Tiny Quilt #20
20/100
This is an experiment… I was following my interests in choosing fabrics, and I didn’t have a plan. This is a denim and corduroy four-panel patchwork with a linen-cotton blend for the backing and binding. I also experimented with different ways of stitching stars. The one in the middle is based on stars that I’ve been drawing on things since I was a teenager. The smaller stars go through all three layers, and I discovered that they could also be used intentionally as a quilting stitch instead of ties. I also added a panel of corduroy on the back because this dark blue corduroy is so good to touch. I’m interested in adding sensory elements that invite people to enjoy touching these Tiny Quilts. I could also imagine keeping one in my pocket with pleasant textures.

Improv/emergent design, and being open to what happens when I don’t plan ahead at all.
