Tiny Quilt #1

1/100

I’ve started a 100 Days project! My plan is to make 100 Tiny Quilts in one year (about 2 per week). Official 100 Days projects are created over 100 consecutive days, but it’s important to me to choose a pace that’s sustainable and enjoyable. My definition of a tiny quilt is 12” square or smaller, with no minimum size.

I want to experiment with as many techniques, colours, and textures as possible this year to find out what my quilting style/voice will be. I’m keen to explore patchwork and appliqué techniques, along with both hand sewing and machine sewing. I’m already discovering that I enjoy using the sewing machine for piecing the patchwork together, and doing the quilting stitches and finishing by hand. I have a lot to learn about hand sewing, and how to sew through all the layers with more ease. I also want to try out the full spectrum of approaches from the most planned and measured to completely improvised and without a ruler.

I’m excited about where this project will take me <#3
