I’ve been experimenting with embroidery stitches / mark-making. This is my first time trying out the seed stitch, and I really enjoyed the process. I think it looks like fennel seeds or lavender flowers here! This is good quality Sashiko thread that’s naturally dyed, from Kokka Fabrics. I need to continuously remind myself of the seam allowance so I leave enough room for spaciousness in the composition once the binding is complete. I marked the seam allowance for this quilt with chalk so I could really see how much space I had for my stitches. I’ve also been switching over to using a ladder stitch for the binding instead of a running stitch… This invisible stitching works well for finishing this quilt.
