Tiny Quilt #15

15/100

This is another Tiny Quilt in the portal series… I like this combination of stripes from Blenderz, and it was fun to use Sashiko thread with variegated greens and blues that I found locally at Little Blue Fibre Studio. I stared this quilt a while ago, and got a bit frustrated with the corduroy and linen fabrics and put it away for a while. I notice how my hand-sewing skills have improved in the past few weeks. I’ll also remember that corduroy adds an extra challenge in the way that it frays. It took me a bit to decide if the stripes in the circle would be horizontal or vertical… When the quilt was finished, vertical felt right.

Tiny Quilt #15
Dimensions: 5 by 5”
Influenced by a combination of visual texture and tactile texture.

New skills: Perseverance in returning to a project that I had set aside. (I didn’t give up on it or take it apart right away.) I enjoyed finishing it after taking a break.
