Influenced by more patchwork experiments, with some of the fabrics I’ve been using recently. I have very little of each of these, so sometimes I hesitate about using them up. It’s good practice to allow the fabric to come and go, knowing that there will be other interesting colours and patterns on the way soon.

New skills:
Continuing piecing without a plan - this is a life-skill re: imperfectionism. I think the finished product has more life when I don’t measure along the way. I started piecing with medium-sized strips of fabric and then made some strategic cuts once they were attached together. I moved these pieces around until I arrived at this composition. I enjoy the dark mulberry (fabric from a sheet from Value Village) and bright orange silk thread from Maiwa.
