Tiny Quilt #28
Dimensions: 6 by 6”
Influenced by Claire Voelkel-Stedlmeir’s instructions for making letters with thread. I need lots of practice! (Ss and Gs are the most difficult letters.) This text is from the first meeting of the Soft Animal Bodies somatic practice group. This is a monthly group from September to March, and I plan to make one TQ about each of the sessions this winter. A technical challenge: Right now I need to put text on light coloured fabric so my purple erasable marker is visible to guide where the stitches should go. But the thread shows through the light coloured muslin fabric… I wonder if there’s a way around this. I’m also wondering about options for working on darker fabric with lighter thread.

New skills:
Continuing to learn about textile text. My first experiment with illustrating workshop notes.
