Tiny Quilt #31
Dimensions: 2 ½” square
Influenced by a workshop I attended for work - where I was expecting some good information and instead learned about which prompts to input into AI - for a result that really isn’t as satisfying or impactful as what results from real humans engaging with a creative process. I want human-made things! And this workshop didn’t mention AI in the description. Sigh. I heard someone say that using AI is like using a forklift at the gym… The purpose of going to the gym isn’t to move heavy things from one place to another - the engagement, effort, struggle is what makes the whole thing worthwhile, and what makes us stronger. I feel this about the effort of art and writing - both what I make and what I seek out from others.

New skills:
Working very small. This silk thread is slippery, but I love the smooth texture when it’s finished, and the way that the copper orange stands out on the mulberry purple. There’s plaid flannel on the back. (This one!)
