Tiny Quilt #11

11/100

This is my first improv quilt! I made each design decision as I went along… There are changes I’d make if I was doing it again, but I learned a lot through this process and I’ll definitely do it again. I used a ruler a little bit in making this quilt, compared to my previous work where I’ve used a ruler a lot. I’m also interested in the presence of circles in Tiny Quilts - including cut out, added on, stitching, visual texture, physical texture…

Tiny Quilt #11
Dimensions: 4 by 6”
Influenced by an interest in exploring improvisation.
This is a combination of a variety of fibres/textures: Denim, flannel, and linen.

New skills: Making one decision at a time, and not planning what happens next. Trying a cut-out circle for the first time.
