Tiny Quilt #3
3/100
I’m interested in experimenting with expressive/visible hand-sewing, beyond what’s practical or functional. These stitches are in white on black for high contrast, and black on black for a texture that becomes visible close-up. The white stitches go through the top fabric only, and the black stitches are doing the work of quilting the layers together. The shape of these stitches make me think of rain, a crowd of people, seeds… The backing fabric has a subtle star print.
