I’m excited about all the patterns that can be made with half-square triangles. The process of arranging them reminds me of playing with the wooden multi-coloured tangrams that we had in elementary school. I’ve just begun to experiment with what’s possible with these shapes in Tiny Quilt compositions, and I’m interested to see what will emerge over time.

Influenced by the geometric possibilities that come with triangles, and this tutorial with Faith Hale about batch cutting 2, 4, 8, and 16 at a time. I’m impressed that someone devised the technique for making 16!

New skills: I discovered more about why there aren’t a lot of linen quilts… This fabric was hard to work with, but possible at this small scale - especially because I hand sewed the binding. I like the way it looks and feels, and I also realize that it would be tricky when working larger. The light blue above is linen, and the dark blue is denim.
